Where is David? In Florence!

This was our constant question, where is that man??
One of the many deceiving fakes

Is he in the tourist shop? On the Michelangelo Platz? In the city center?

Finally, he was discovered, when in doubt as to where the real famous art piece in Italy is, look for the place with the longest line and go stand in it.
After too many hours in a line, Anna and I saw the real David (sorry, no pictures, it was strictly forbidden). Turns out he is much larger in person then I imagined him to be (as large as the wall he was standing in front of) and well worth the wait!

The bridges were one of my favorite parts of Florence

The highlights of Florence included the best panini I have ever eaten, gorgeous views of the city and oh, and a wine tour in the Chianti area.

Anna and I spent a lovely afternoon/evening being driven around to a castle, tasting some wine and learning about the process of making wine and olive oil in that area. Then we visited a couple of small towns and we finished with a magnificent dinner in one of the best restaurants in the area. The only mistake that was made that day was coming back and getting some more gelato....there is such a thing as too much good food. However, there are always worse problems to have.

Florence and the Tuscany area was by far the most beautiful to me, if I could go back in the summer time, I would. Under the Tuscan Sun had the right idea, don't just visit, move in!
